CLAWFINGER Frontman Interviewed; Video Available
July 13, 2009Bunch TV conducted an interview with frontman Zak Tell of the Swedish rap/metal combo CLAWFINGER when the band played the Devilside Festival on June 28, 2009 at Landschaftspark in Duisburg-Nord, Germany. Watch the chat below.
CLAWFINGER's latest album, "Life Will Kill You", was released in the U.S. in July 2008 via Locomotive Records. The CD, which entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 89 upon its European release in 2007, was recorded and self-produced at Sweden's Fear And Loathing Studios, a facility that CLAWFINGER runs along with the members of MESHUGGAH.
In a November 2008 online posting, Tell commented on the rumors that "Life Will Kill You" may turn out to be CLAWFINGER's last-ever album. "We haven't spoken about ending CLAWFINGER," he said. "It is, however, the end of an era simply because we can no longer make a living from our music, which means less time available for songwriting and meeting up to be creative! Then again, 15 years of living off of what we love isn't bad; in fact, it's more and longer than most bands ever manage, so there's really no reason to be anything but happy! Hell, plenty of bands settle with less than what we've had and still make it work somehow!"
He continued, "So the future is anybody's guess. Will there be another album, you ask? Well, I hope so, even if I can't say when or what it'll be. Right now our priorities are elsewhere simply because we need to pay our bills! I'm still in love with music and I think we still have more in us so I still believe in CLAWFINGER! Remember that where there is an end, there is also a beginning."
